My Inspired Journey

Hi bloggers, I am back from my Inspired Journey retreat feeling very blessed to have been able to get away and experience it. Able to escape from all my worries, up and downs and was able to just be free to be me, that is all I had wanted. I was able to bring back with me, a lot of creative ideas, happiness, and inspiration.

On Thursday my roomie Cindy and I thought we would make a trip to Fabric Barn to pick up some ribbon for our ribbon exchange, pick up a late lunch and check in to the hotel to get settled in. Cindy and I stayed in to scrapbook, drink some wine and enjoy some M&M's. I was busy trying to get this altered box with mini book started to document my Inspired Journey.
I used the Indie Chic collection from My Minds Eye to alter my box from Graphic 45. I also made this adorable flower by using a 2" glue dot, ribbon from My Minds Eye and wrapped it around from the outside in, and finished it off by adding a golden rhinestone on top of a chipboard flowers.
When you open the 1st lid you will see the heading I made using my Cricut E2 and the Cuttin Up cartridge.
Here is what you see when you open the second lid, my folded mini book.
Here I was working on my first class making a wood stand designed by no other Teresa Collins, a a picture with Teresa. Teresa was so inspiring to me, and I loved hering her stories. I of which brought tears to my eyes. Then I took a class by Sande from 7 Gypsy making a travel mini album and journal book. Also pictured is Cindy and I showing our winnings. You can also see Rebecca from pink Paislee who showed my how to use Glitter Mist......I loved it! And last but not least in Ginger, who put together this chin-dig along with Teresa Collins. Ginger was so funny and nice, and she even brought her Mom along to help with the event.
On the backside of folded mini I am pictured with Shannon from Cricut who not only taught an adorable card at out make n take but brought tons of goodies for each and every member.......how awesome is that! the 2nd fold has my whole story so that I not forget all the details small and big. I am also pictured with Teresa who is my mentor and friend who inspires me to reach for my goals, and reach for the stars. Last picture is with Esmeralda, who I met online on Facebook and was able to connect with her here at the retreat. She is so sweet and owns a online scrapbook store.

I think the best thing was that I was able to make new friends too.

Super Uper Busy........Yup! That's Me

I hate to go a week without posting on my blog. I have so busy lately with teaching classes, working a Charity Wings event,  making items for my friends MS Zumba charity event, working on a banner for a magazine I will be featured in (details soon) and finally designing for 2 design teams since last Thursday......Non stop, busy I tell you. But I have to say I love where I am at in my scrapbook journey today, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Pictured above is a sweet and simple card I made using My Little Shoebox. I love the card because it not only did it take all but 15 minutes to make, but the sweetness of the little girl......she is adorable.

I used a lot of pop dots to give it that 3 dimensional effect, added rhinestones, distressed it with a little ink, and of course finish it off with Stickles.....my favorite go to sparkley glitter glue

.

Now lets talk about the Charity Wings event I helped out on this past weekend. Pictured here is sisters Cathi, Cindi, and I (the itty bitty short one) .....I had so much fun reconnecting with Cathi, we went to the same high school together. And it is funny how we have been scrapbooking many years and our paths crossed many times but we never knew it......They are so sweet! We all taught a make in take that was designed by Sherry Mendoza (designer/editor for Prima Marketing) at their yearly warehouse sale in Chino, CA. We were raising money for the Susan B Komen for the cure. And we were also promoting Live at CHA, a free online streaming event to an online interactive look into the new product releases and what's happening at the Craft & Hobby Association’s Summer Trade Show. They will also be holding a raffle, and this will be benefiting A Place To Bark. Link---> Live at CHA

Here I am with my Charity Wings shirt helping with the make n take on Saturday.

And here is a picture taken by Cindi of me trying to be adorable wearing my Prima decorated hat and necklace.

This week I will be attending the Inspired Journey in Manhattan Beach, CA. It is a weekend of creativity, inspiration and friends! Great teachers, fantastic projects, and many laughs, overall an awesome experience where I will be taught by Teresa Collins,  Sande from 7 Gypsies, and Rebecca from Pink Paislee. I am sooooo stinking excited I cant wait to learn and be inspired!

So stay tuned, I cannot wait to show pictures of the event.

Hope everyone has a great day,

♥ Michelle

Happy National Scrapbook Day

Hello everyone,

today I am stopping by for a quick post in honor of National Scrapbook Day. I am glad to finally be home and able to scrap the night away, after teaching a Make N Take and a Cricut Class.

One of the projects I worked on today was this adorable card featuring Wow embossing powders. I cannot say enough how awesome these powders are. The colors are so amazing. There are so of many to choose from I cannot pick just one favorite. But I will tell you my favorite powder that I use is the Clear Ultra High Because after applying the embossing powder 3x's it looked 3 dimensional, and get this....when it cools down, you can bend it to crack all over to make it look aged. (as pictured above)

I hope everyone of you bloggers made time to create today.

Take care and come back soon.

♥ Michelle

Happy Little Me..........

Me use funny photos of me? I thought why not!  I wanted to take some pictures that were outside of my normal of not right angle, or no it looks like I have a double chin. But you know you gotta love me for who I am, not what I look like right?

This is how I really look when I have a huge smile on my face. This was such an awesome day and I wanted to capture how I felt this day, very happy.

On this layout I used the Tigerlilly collection by Kaisercraft papers. I normally do not use use orange but I absolutely love how they mixed it with pink and black.

I also made my photos in black and white and of course finished my layout with amazing ribbon from May Arts and nothing is ever complete without using Stickles by Ranger of course.

Thanks for stopping by and come back soon ♥ Michelle

Cousins Mini Book

Hello bloggers, I was very fortunate to take a few awesome pictures this past Easter Holiday. So I decided to make a mini album that my family will cherish for years to come.

I used the Bind It All to bind and make the holes, and antique wire to keep it together.
The paper I used today came from Authentic, their Loyal collection.....and it was perfect for my photos. They had many cute cousin quotes, and little boy quotes that was a perfect fit for all my pictures.

I also used my Epiphany square punch. I love being able to make my own embellishments to get that special final touch I am looking for.
A album is not complete until you add ribbon. I am loving the May ArtsnRossettes ribbon.....my favorites.
Pictured here is Alexis, Diego and Erin.
I also used the Epiphany Pennant punch for this page to create a mini banner and topped it off with crochet ribbon.
Awwwww, I love this picture. This is AJ's 1st Easter, and he had so much fun with all his cousins. Pictured here are my adorable nieces Bella, Gabby, Alexis and Erin.
This is a perfect age when the kids are still willing to act silly for the camera.
I can always count on my Diego to cross his eyes when I am trying to capture special moments.....LOL

Family Mini Album

Hello Bloggers,

Today I would really like to talk about my latest new love.....errr, should I say obssesion.........INK! I have always had a love and hate affair with ink. But because my designer friend Teresa (Her blog ---> http://victorianpaperqueen.blogspot.com/ ) reintroduced to me, I quickly picked up at where I left off last year and started playing with my old ones and new ones. I am really liking the Donna Salazar Mixed Media ink. I love how it has a chalky feel to it, and I am able to get a smooth look using the Ink Essential tool.

For today's post I made a Family album using the We Are Memory Keepers scrapbook line called Anthologie. The album is a 3 ring chipboard binder from Bazzil Basics. The ink I used around the edges of the album and around the dollie is by Donna Salazar. The colors were Peridot and Leather, along with the blender ink essential tool.

I used 4 different embossed stickers from the same Anthologie line. But if you real close on one of the stickers you will see a scalloped bottle cap I made using the Epiphany scalloped epoxy punch.....I love how you can make you own epoxy trinkets using whatever papers you have to create the perfect match.

I used my Cricut E2, and several cartridges. For the word Family I used Lyrical Letters, and cut at 3" but along with my Cricut Craft Room I was able to weld the letters to get one continues cut. Welding the words makes it easier for me to adhere the word to my project.....it is my favorite feature. I used Story book for the Fancy corner cut at 4 1/2" and the heart came from the Plantin cartridge cut at 4 1/2"

As I usually do, I added glitter all around the mini album to give it that sparkley finished look. I am teaching this at my local craft store, and once the class is completed I can finish posting the rest of the pictures.

Thanks for reading today's blog post and do not forget to have a fabulous day..... ♥

Dream A Little Dream

Hi fellow bloggers,

I have a little dream, and is to be part of a wonderful tea. Today as I was trying to finish up this banner for Jinger's Design Team call, I got to wondering.....What would Jinger like, what is she looking for, what are her favorite colors......I really had alot of question, and no answers. This is because her scrapbook line has yet to be introduced. I really want to impress her because I am such a huge fan. I was also excited to see that Teresa the Scarpbooking Queen will be heading the new team. I am soooooo excited.

But as I was speaking to my Friend Teresa she said, Michelle do what you do and just be you. I took a step back and realized that yes she is right! I felt so much better, and relieved about finishing my project with no pressure at all.......So here it is, and I would love to share how I put it all together, and there is a little surprise for my blog followers, so continue reading below.

I really loved this banner I found in the Cricut Princess Party cartridge, instead of holes to add your ribbon, it made these thin slits at each end, and the ribbon went right through so smooth and straight. I cut the banner at 5 1/2". The letters where from Alphalicious and were cut at 4" including the shadow.

Something new I tried for the first time where Wobbles.....all the new craze, and I wanted to try it out. I really liked how it made the star on banner pop out, and the fun part it really wobbled.....LOL. It was really hard to get good shoot because it was so windy outside and then it started to rain......oh no!

I decided to distress the edges of my banner using my  blending tool by Inkessentials, and my Mixed Media Ink from Donna Salazar. This color is amazing and one of my favorites. It is called Peridot. I just added ink to my healing mat, and started blending in a circular motion. The more I blended the darker the shade I got, how awesome is that!

and here is how it looks after going over it once. I did 3x's to achieve the final look that I desired.

Now lets talk about the paper. This is the Indigo Bleu line from Pink Paislee.  With it I used the Chat Cloud die cuts that are part of this line, and they are so cute and full of glitter just the way I like it!

........Finally about the surprise I was writing about, I am giving this banner to one of my blog followers. All you have to do is, be a follower, and comment on this post.....easy peasy! For an extra chance to win, have a friend follow my blog and tell them you sent them. I cant wait to see who's home my banner will going to. Winner will be announced Friday Night April 6, 2012.
