All In The Details.......

Today's I am sharing this Spring Album I made.  I signed up for a class taught by Prima's Educator Frank Garcia I wanted to learn more about mixed media. Something I steered far away from because it seemed to complicated. Frank encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone.......and I am happy I did. But I did warn him that I was not a very good student......I usually veered the other way and always did my own thing, my way.

I do not know why I never started using modeling paste, or gesso before. I have a feeling from now on these will be used on everyone of my projects....THANK YOU FRANK!

I loved all the details on the cover. I used Prima's 12x12 flourish stencil, modeling paste, and applying it with a mini scraper right on Prima's resist mixed media canvas album. Using my heating tool, I made sure the paste was dry before I applied colored mist sprays.

How about Prima's flowers? I think because they are handmade that it sets them apart from the rest. They are just gorgeous.I used Natures Garden paper collection by Jodi Lee Designs for Prima.

Here is the 1st page of the album. I really like the wood embellishments I used. I embossed them with cooper glitter to make them pop.

Here is Franks album. His work is amazing, and I highly recommend his classes. We all loved how very detailed he was, and must say how generous he was with all the product we all got. Every student went home extremely happy having signed up for his class. THANKS Frank for inspiring me to get out of my comfort zone. So glad that I did!

You can find Frank teaching just about everywhere these days.......his classes are listed on his blog. Also check out his online Paperhaus magazine, Prima's blog, and dont forget their Ustream to see all his work.

Thanks for stopping by......see you real soon.

Creating Mini Albums for Gifts

Hello peeps,

Today I would like share a gift I made for my husbands cousin Perla who flew in from Mexico City, Mexico for her baby shower. I used the new Prima Lyric Collection and my favorite shabby chic treasures by Ingvild Bolme, and of course the fabulous flowers by Prima. Because I only had 2 days to make the gift I had no time to buy a Prima mini album so I used chipboard that always have on hand along with my ever handy and fab Bind It All tool from my friends over at Zutter Innovative Products.

For years I have been making and creating albums to give as gifts to family members and friends. I would rather give a handmade gift because it shows that a lot of time and effort was put into it.

This is  Perla's first baby....a baby girl, and they decided to name her Navani Valentina. Perla has never scrapbooked before but told me that they have scrapbook stores in Mexico City, and had never tried it. She loved the book and cannot wait to fill it up with pictures of her baby when she is born. So I made she she had enough adhesive, stickers, and extra papers.......I think we have a new scrap sister ♥ mission accomplished!

Happy Scrapping

Well Hello There..............

It has been a few months since I blogged, and I am back again sharing a few things that have kept me busy and away from my severely neglected blog.

A few months ago I blogged about the great things happening in my life.........I was so excited that I was no longer unemployed. I got a full time job in the industry I am so passionate about....scrapbooking. I spent 1 1/2 year trying to find a job in the crafting industry with no luck, and just when I was about to gave up after so many disappointments Prima Marketing  called me to come in for a interview.....I was hired!

I had been a Prima fan since 2004 and could not wait for my local scrapbook stores to get the new latest and greatest.....I always "had" to buy one of each.
Pictured here is my dear friend Monica and I about 6 months prior to Prima hiring me. We were excited that our local scrapbook store got a new Prima shipment in, and could not wait to buy it all.......this photo cracks me up because we were really this excited.

At Prima Marketing, I work in the Design Dept as an Account Manager for a major chain store. I had the opportunity to travel to Thailand to meet with our buyers and show them the product our team developed for them. I love to be able to help come up with concepts and ideas to sell to our clients. I have learned so much working at Prima since last August, and still am amazed how things work in the industry.....I can truly definitely say that my perception in working in the crafting industry has changed tremendously. I have so much to learn.

I also have had so many opportunities while working at Prima and cannot wait to share them with you. As I slowly get back to blogging I will share all my adventures with you, one at a time.

I want to leave you today with a little trinket bracelet I made using Prima products. These adorable scrapbook mini frames come in various finishes, and colors. I was trying to think outside of the box when playing with them.

So goodbye, but not for long......I so much crafty creations I want to share with you, so come back soon!

Fall.......My favorite season of the year!

Fall has always been my favorite season. I love the vibrant rich colors of orange, reds, and yellows. I cannot wait for our weather here to change to cold crispy chilly mornings and rain. Lately here in Southern California we have seen nothing but hot, and humid days in the late 90's.....YUCK!

I have been busy submitting all the stuff I have been working on lately and had nothing to post today because I cannot share until I know for sure that my stuff was not picked up. But today I plan on scrapbooking all day, and just for the fun if it. So maybe I can post something here on my blog real soon.

I really would like to thank all my family and friends who congratulated me on all the great things happening in my life right now. I truly feel blessed and grateful for each and everyone of you.

....... I will definitely be back soon.

O Happy Day!

Hi everybody, please do not mind the mess in front of me. But that is how I roll when I am creating. A complete utter mess, makes for pretty crafty creations......I am sure I am not a lone messy scrapper, yes I know a lot of you can relate!

About three weeks ago I signed up for Sherry Mendoza's birthday crop at The Prima Warehouse. I was so excited because it had been a while that I have been to a crop that I was able to create things for fun. I went alone anticipating to make new friends.......and was I blown away. Not Only did I make new friends, I reconnected with an old friend as well........O Happy Day!
Pictured above is Sherry Mendoza (birthday girl) and Trish Figueroa. Sherry had us all laughing with her dancing antics, and her lovely accent.....LOVE IT! I was so surprised that I ran into Trish, she was my first scrapbooking boss. We had so much to catch up on, and chatted the night away. Things are good for her, look how happy she is. This photo captures the mood of the evening, we were all  happy to be here.
This is my new and talented friend Frank Garcia.......His work is amazing, Trish and I could not take our eyes off his work. He just sat, chatted with us, and continued to work on his layouts......and he is very humble. Keep your eyes on this guy, he is going places. Please click on his name for link to follow his blog. He has some amazing things going on right now. Next month he will be a guest designer for Prima, and also launch his new on-line scrapbook magazine.
Here is a sneak peak of one of his layouts. A huge thanks for Frank letting me use a couple of his photos.
I spent Saturday and Sunday doing make n takes at Scrap N Yap in Monrovia, CA. They were celebrating their 5th Anniversary with a crop. The house was full with many scrapbookers and lots of prizes. My favorite part was the dessert truck that pulled up for all croppers to enjoy a sweet treat. This was far the hardest decision I had to make all week.....A root beer float, sundae, or cookie sandwich.....Yummy!

It was also my last time that I am going to teach scrapbook, or Cricut classes anywhere. I am closing this chapter in my life, because a new one is about to begin. Cannot wait to share what my new chapter will be.......come back soon!

Family First...............

Hi Bloggers,

It seems like forever since I have been on here and I feel so bad neglecting it. But I needed a mini brake from blogging and I am so enjoying time with my family right now. I have 4 boys, 1 in college, 1 senior, 1 freshman, and my little 6th grader. I have been reflecting lately on what is most important to me, and seeing how time is flying by so fast, and my babies are growing up before my eyes, I needed to make sure they know how very important they are to me in my world, and they do.

I feel very fortunate how my husband, boys, and family support my scrapbook hobby, and all my high hopes to make it more than just that one day. Looking for a work in the Scrapbook industry has been so hard, and jobs are very hard to come by. But one day I hope be able to do just that,  you just wait and see!

Above you can see a sneak peak of my latest creation, a family mini album.....I love making them, cant get enough! Though I have not been blogging much, I must say that I sure have been creating.......So stay tuned, there is so much more that I want to show and share with you all.

A Lovely Oval Card

 Hi Bloggers,

Today I would love to share this card I made using my favorite color.....Blue. I love how I was able to find embellishments old and new to create it.

The easel greeting card is not your traditional or typical greeting card. The easel on the back of the card makes it sturdy for display on your desk, counter top, and or shelf.

You would simply decorate the card as you would a regular card, and recipient can easily fold at the mid-joint, enter the mid-joint into the tongue of the easel  to display.

Using embossing powders, along with Piccolo enamel adhesive,  and a heat gun I changed my chipboard heart to a golden color to add a special touch as you see on the card.

Here is a side view of the card showing you the easel to hold up the card.

Products Used -
  • Easel Greeting Card - Globecraft Memories
  • 24K Gold Embossing Powders - Globecraft Memories
  • Piccolo Enamel Adhesive - Globecraft Memories
  • Ribbon - May Arts
  • Hearts -  Piccolo Card Set #3
  • Paper - My Minds Eye
  • Crystal Floral Stem- Prima Marketing
  • Butterfly - K and Company
  • Border punch - Martha Stewart

Thanks for stopping by and please come back soon.

Fabulous Mini

 Hi all,

today I wanted to share the mini album I made using the 6"x6" Clip-Board Wood  cover, Heidi Swapp , and Bind It All V2.0.

When I first saw this Sugar Chic line from Heidi Swapp, I knew immediately that it would be a perfect girlie album, especially with the fabulous photos I took with Alexis. The freedom to create an album using this awesome line makes me so happy. Mini albums have been my favorite thing to make and gift for many years now. Along with my Bind It All V2 and 6"x6" clip-board I set off to do just that.
I love that I can be silly with Alexis, she makes me feel young again.  When using the clip-board and because of the thickness, you will need to apply a whole lot of pressure to get the cut through. I had decided to center the album in the middle for my Bind It All and cut only 6 holes for my O-rings.

On the inside of my mini album I used chipboard and cut it to 5 3/4x5 3/4 to fit inside the 6x6 album. I loved all the embellishments that came with the Heidi Swapp line and I was able to find these cute Zebra gemstone to match it perfectly.

Thanks again for stopping by.

See you soon ♥

Starting Monday With A Bang!

I have to admit, what a difference your life makes when you surround yourself people who support you, teach you, push you to be all you can be, and more......I feel nothing but blessed right now, and oh so thankful.

I have been blogging for over 4 years but not weekly as I had originally had hoped for. So, the beginning of this year I made a promise to myself to make sure I did just that, and I feel that alone has made a huge difference on where I am at today.

About 3 months ago I opened a private email on Facebook from a sweet young lady asking me if I would like to be published in her on-line magazine as a featured designer. I was very shocked because I had also just recently been selected to be on 2 manufacture design teams. I used to think that I would never be chosen for any of these opportunities and to me I think the whole difference was being on top of your blog, and a lot of creating.

Pictured above is the very photo I used in the magazine. I went with a patriotic theme due to our Country celebrating our Independence this month.

Ekkkkk! I am super excited, so please check out the her magazine here....... A Homespun Affair

Stay tuned for the next few blog posts, I have so much more things happening that I want to share and cannot wait to share.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July.

Happy Monday Everyone

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and I have plenty of creative stuff on my plate this week. I am putting the final touches on my CHA designs for Globecrafts, and then it is off to ship them. You will absolutely love the new product debuting next month at the Craft and Hobby Association being held in Chicago, and I cannot wait to share with you.

I thought that the Stella Rose collection by My Minds Eye was perfect for AJ's photos.
Here is a sneak peak inside of the album, featuring my favorite picture of AJ smiling while asleep......so cute! I cannot wait to show Sindy the whole album, and I hope she loves it. I love being able to creative and personalize gifts for the family.

  • My Minds Eye - Paper, Embellishments
  • May Arts - Ribbon
